THOUGHTS OF SUN CAMP --- TONOPAH, AZ.

For the last few days my mind has been on the experiences of Sun Camp and the wonderful friends that I've left behind. I know that it is not a goodbye but still I am beginning to miss them. Sun Camp was a great experience in ways I didn't expect in life. Such a beautiful group of people and each are very special to me in their own way. I can truly say that I have grown to love each and every one there.

In the short time that Phil and I lived there we were part of that community and all that it stood for. Sun Spiritualist Camp was changed as we all learned to communicate and work as a team for the betterment of the whole, that is Sun Camp.... We truly danced together in unison... I truly do dance with angels.
The world could learn a lesson from Sun Camp in how to walk the walk and talk the talk of Universal, Impersonal Love. One of the things that my guiding Angels taught me is that Earth is merely a school for the souls. It is there through our experience with one another that teaches us and challenges us to grow. And most important how to interact with each other with positive energy rather than the negative. How we respond is how life will treat us. If you want respect you must give it...if you want love you much live it. As you become more positive in thought and action the wars of the world are put aside. You are not part of it. I watched this put in action at Sun Camp as it went through the changing of the energies being brought to Earth as we moved fully into the New Aquarian Age. There truly is a new Sun Camp that has been created. There is a song that is sung at the ending of the church services ... "Let There Be Peace"... it goes something like this: let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. It was a beautiful experience to see these people living that song.

So it is with an overflowing of love from my heart that I say, "God Bless Sun Camp".... KEEP ON DANCING!

Our hearts beat in rhythm to the tune of life and our souls sing the song. So it doesn't matter where you are or what you  are doing... the dance of life goes on. As we learn we perfect our style...

The dancing just keeps on getting better with the experiences... When we are all dancing as One... then the New World has begun...... KEEP ON DANCING!!!

THE TRIP TO TEXAS

We made it to Lake Meredith in the panhandle of Texas. Slept over night in a picnic area just out side of Amarillo. Wasn't bad until a semi refrigerator truck pull up beside us. Those things run all night so they are noisy to say the least. But once again, we survived lol.

The truck problems were fixed so it ran with no problems. But the generator needed a tune up and there wasn't much getting online done. Guess I am retired... I was tired yesterday and tired again today...lol. Didn't do very much outside.

We had a thunderstorm blow through after we got here. Thirty plus miles an hour rain and wind. Made it interesting inside the RV. Not scary just interesting. Luckily we parked so we were rear ended into the storm like an old horse knows how to do. Doesn't blow you over that way. Still the rain was a good thing around here. The lake is very low and can use the water. This area is mostly flat plains except here in this area. There are small rolling hills and here at the lake it is similar to a canyon filled with water. I don't know enough to say where the water originates. As you can see we are camped near the shore. But the problem is that the shore in down the side of a cliff. It's a rocky climb down a steep bank pass a few rattlesnakes... I don't think so!

Friday Phil went into Dumas, Texas where he got the truck inspected and the utility trailer registered. That is the reason we're here in Texas. The trip here was very interesting. We passed a lot of flatland in bad need of water. But the most intriguing was a valley in New Mexico that was nothing less then a lava bed. From the size of the flow I would be willing to bet that at one time there was a super volcano that was the cause of it. If you look closely you will see that there is a community there in the back ground that is built on top of the lava rocks. I was amazed to see that. Those rocks are sharp as glass and I can only image what resides down in and around them. I really don't think I have the makings for that lifestyle.. I have a thing about snakes and things that shred my feet. But I have to admire the resilience of the people living there.

Most of our trip we traveled on or near the old Route 66 Highway. In some places it was barely visible and in others it was still drivable as you can see in the photo below, but it was fenced off most of the way.

There were some interesting sights along the road sight such as the T-Rex

Looks like this one is being chased out of the Native village.

There were plenty of Antelope once we crossed over into New Mexico. I never saw one in any of the other states. I was beginning to think they were gone.

I saw a couple of wild burros in New Mexico also. The land they were on looked mighty bleak...

But not far down the road I saw these guys and that really made me wonder what they were surviving on. Most of the cattle we saw were young. I don't know if they were replacements herds or just feeders for the market.

Water seems to be the most valuable thing on earth.  Where there was life there was water. We passed many a windmill pumping up the liquid gold.

There were also many scenes like this old abandoned homestead.

But we also passed towns and small communities such as this beautiful old Navajo village with its adobe homes and the white church in the center. I took this photo as we drove passed. But there were cars stopped and people along the road taking pictures of the village. I had one chance and this was the photo I got.

I didn't miss getting a photo of the cars at the Cadillac Ranch this time as we drove pass them. They are a few miles outside of Amarillo, Texas.  Looks like he is painting them all green. Although there were lots of people walking around them I didn't wish to do so. I tend to respect fencing rights.

Well the sun has gone down on this day and here it is almost midnight so I will close this and head off to bed...

Remember... live well - laugh often - and love much.
And don't forget to keep on dancing!

STANDING ON THE CORNER IN WINSLOW, ARIZONA

Hey, all you Eagles fans... picture yourself in this picture...
This is the corner made world famous by the great song "Take It Easy" by the reknown band called  the "Eagles"...

Didn't see the girl in it but here is the flatbed Ford ...

History has it that when I-40 was opened to travel the tourist town like most other small town dependent on Route 66 was struggling to survive. The traffic was passing the town by and the tourist trade was not enough to keep it alive. The town formed a committee group to come up with ways to bring in the people and the money they spent. I'm not sure who came up with the idea to use the fame of the Eagles and their hit song. But that person sure came up with a gold mine. And it is still causing the cash registers to go ca-ching!

We saw tourist after tourist standing on the corner of Winslow, Arizona... what a fine sight to see... pun intended...

 Phil at the flatbed Ford..

Here is a view that not everyone knows exist of the corner wall. It is just a backdrop not a building. The window with the girl in the flatbed Ford is a framed mural not a reflection in the window. The windows above are fake also. The artist that created the scenes is extremely talented.

Here is another painting that is on the local pawn shop wall...

We absolutely loved our visit to Winslow, Arizona and the stay at McHood Park. We met a couple from Quebec, Canada that were a delight to get to know and I hope we get to see them again... Elizabeth Ravaz and Michel Berthelot.

We have met so many Native Navajo people here at the park.  They are a great people. Two young men stopped to borrow Phil's phone and stayed to chat with us. They tried to teach me to say "thank you" in their language but my tongue just wouldn't come up with the sounds. I shared a couple of quartz crystals with them as they use them in their prayers. In return they shared their sacred Hopi corn that they use as an offering in their morning prayers. They also suggested that we stop off at Earl's Restaurant in Gallup, New Mexico for a taste of Native Food and Native jewelry.  We were told that is the place where the Navajo go for their eats and jewelry.

A couple of local Navajo are telling Phil about the area, the sights, and the fishing. Everyone we met treated us like a friend. We were really impressed with each and everyone. And because of this we are sad to say we are hitting the road in the morning to head to a lake just above Amarillo, Texas called Lake Meredith.

We will drive I-40 straight across New Mexico as we think the parks leave a lot to desire. I am looking forward to leaving the winds behind us. The last few days has been very windy and our camp sits on the top of the hill. I still have a few photos to share with you of this area but will wait for another day.

Our dance here at Winslow, Az has came to an end but we are looking forward to our next dance to the tune of life... I send forth a prayer that your dance of life is as happy and exciting as our has been... God Bless..... and keep on dancing!

McHOOD PARK AT WINSLOW, ARIZONA

I have a few photos to share that was taken on the road. I took a photo of the first pine tree I saw....

One of the things that we notice was  the lack of green grass. I realize that the area was just coming out of winter but due to the recent rains and snow melt I would expect to see a hint of green. What I saw instead was a lot of dead and dying trees.

But as we were coming into Flagstaff, Az we begin to see some greening. Also a large mountain in the distance with snow still showing. Sorry about the spots on the window. Phil did clean the glass before we started the trip. Didn't want you thinking there is a moon in the photo lol.

Here is a closer view of the snow capped mountain...

After leaving the Flagstaff area it was like entering another world. The descent down from the higher elevations brought us back into the desert landscape as you can see from this old abandoned homestead.

After our arrival here at McHood Lake we set up camp then went for a bike ride down the road. Here is a flock of a very large cranes that was coming home to roost. Not sure just what they are but they are very big birds...

Here is a close up of them...

This is the first sunset view from my desk window. Nice.

Some how I lost track of Phil as I was busy taking bird pictures and he went on without me. So, needless to say I beat him home. Here he is coming up the road. He is doing a great job on the bike in spite of the knee surgery. I am proud of his accomplishment!

And here is what I have to put up with hahaha. This is SuChi. She gets in Phil's lap so she can get on his desk to stare at me when she wants something. How can one resist that darling little face saying, "hey Mom... can you see me now?"

This is a great little campground and we are enjoying the people and the sights. But most of all the quiet. We are at the first campsite and new comers tend to think we are the camp host. I don't mind as we met so many interesting people. Today I met a couple from Quebec, Canada. The man is from France and has a bit of trouble with English but is trying so hard. The woman is from Canada so she translates a lot. They are great people and we are looking forward to seeing them again. We have spoken with many of the local natives. Again good people.

Well, it is that time. So I will say "good nite". Keep on dancing to the rhythm of the heartbeat of life... God Bless

LAST DAY AT CAMP VERDE, AZ

It looks like Friday will be our last day here in Camp Verde, Az.  Today the truck was taken out for a test run. Found the source of the problem... the fan clutch is out. It's back in the shop and then we are on the road again. Our next planned stop is in Winslow, Az.

Both Phil and I have fell in love with this beautiful little town. It is actually quiet large but most is hidden from view because of the hills, mountains, and valleys. There is a large section of a pecan valley on the other side of town near the river. The soil is rich and plentiful there. The river is prime property area lush and green...
We went down to the park near White Bridge Landing and was amazed at the area. There is a lot of flowing water...

It is also nice to know that there are several places where the kids can access the river and swim. There is also a nice little creek that runs in a valley not far away...
Although the area is absolutely beautiful the real beauty lies with it's people. Everyone that I met is very friendly and has a smile to share. The place is very unique. Seems most everyone keeps a nice neat unique look to their homes also. This one has a planter full of elk antlers in front that caught my eye...
But to me the most amazing sight was the roses. They are everywhere here in this town...

Most of the roses are red but I saw the yellow ones, pink ones, and here and there the "peace" roses. This climate seems to be perfect for them. Every bush I saw was in full bloom.

Well guess I will wind this down as I need to get back to bed if we are to leave when the truck is finished up tomorrow. I am looking forward to getting out of this parking lot. It is a busy place with lots of traffic even in the wee hours of the morning I get awoken by trucks. Not conductive to restful sleeping but better then a truck stop lol.

Keep on dancing your way through life and may the Angels dance with you...
